The Pont de la Tournelle connects the left bank of the Seine to the middle of Île Saint-Louis. The term "Tournelle" comes from the presence in this place in the 12th century of a turret of the enclosure of Philippe Auguste. It is decorated on the left bank by a pylon of almost 15 m surmounted by a statue of Saint Geneviève, patron saint of Paris.
